The American Playwriting Foundation fills a void in the theatre ecosystem by offering talented emerging writers the space to craft plays that are fearless and imaginative. The program offers these artists heightened visibility and opportunities for collaboration, amplifying their voices so their stories can be heard. The Relentless Award, the largest cash prize for a new play in American theater, is designed to allow a playwright to be free to only be a playwright for a year. In the past decade, the Relentless Award has generated a remarkably wide-ranging roster of prizewinners and finalists.
